Some customers prefer to use technical names in Odoo while displaying customer-friendly names on their e-commerce website. Our connector supports this by allowing you to store both names separately.
Here’s how it works:
General Odoo product name: This is the standard product name used within Odoo.
Website product name: This is an additional field specifically for the name displayed on your e-commerce site. It can be found in the E-commerce Integration tab and is labeled as PRODUCT NAME (website_product_name).
Default behaviour:
By default, the website_product_name field is empty. In this case, the connector uses the general Odoo product name for both export and import operations.
Customizing the website product name:
To use a different name for your e-commerce website, simply fill in the website_product_name field with the desired value. When this field is populated, the connector will use it for all import and export operations instead of the general Odoo product name.
This allows you to maintain distinct technical and website-friendly names seamlessly.
