All our e-commerce connectors (Magento2, Shopify, Woocommerce, Prestashop) allow stock quantities synchronization.
There are two methods for inventory synchronization (export):
Real-Time Inventory Sync:
In this mode, inventory is exported to the shop immediately whenever it is updated in Odoo.Scheduled Inventory Sync (Cron Job):
In this mode, inventory is exported at regular intervals, as defined in the cron job settings.
Warning!
We noticed that on some large databases with large amount of products or large amount of inventory transactions process of calculating stock quantity can take significant amount of time. And can overload the server. So use this option with caution.
Also, it is possible to select quantity tyoe that should be sent to external Ecommerce System. These are the available options:
Free to Use Quantity (default) – Quantity On Hand minus Reserved Quantity.
Quantity On Hand – items available in the location.
Forecasted Quantity – Quantity On Hand minus Quantities needed for confirmed sales orders (reserved + non-reserved) plus confirmed Purchase Orders and Manufacturing Orders
Is it possible to import quantities from Ecommerce into Odoo?
Inventory quantities in Odoo are managed by its default logic. The connector does not import stock levels from the shop. Instead, it receives orders from the shop and reduces the inventory in Odoo when the delivery is created. Once the stock is updated in Odoo, it is then exported to the shop.
It is possible to import stock from the shop into Odoo once, at the beginning, by running a specific job.
This action is risky: because it overwrites all stock levels in Odoo with the values from the shop. We strongly advise against using this unless the Odoo stock is empty and you want to initialize it based on the shop’s stock.
