The Direct Print Pro module provides several ways to automate report printing directly from the Odoo user interface.
Predefined scenarios
Direct Print Pro includes several ready-to-use automation scenarios based on common customer requests. These scenarios automatically print reports when specific actions occur, for example, when validating a transfer or confirming a Sales Order.
Action button configuration
A more flexible way to configure automated printing is by using Action Buttons. This option allows you to define:
which report to print,
for which Odoo model,
and on which action the printing should be triggered.
Please note that the required method must already exist. If it does not, you can create it in the dedicated settings menu of the Direct Print Pro module.
Important limitation
Both options allow automated printing only for reports that belong to the same model where the action is triggered.
For example:
When validating a Sales Order, you can print the Sales Order or Quotation report.
You cannot print an Invoice when validating a Sales Order.
Such cross-model scenarios are not supported out of the box.
Custom solutions
If you need to print a report from a different model, this requires a custom implementation.
