We have a special Shopify Partner account that we use when we need temporary access to our customer’s Shopify store. Access to Shopify maybe required in order to debug issues in case of problems or during help in initial installation and configuration
How to give access to Shopify store?
Full article on how to share access you can read on Shopify Help Center here. But below are steps you need to follow to make it simple
Step 1. Get 4-digits collaborator code
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users > Security.
In the Collaborators section, click Generate new code.
Optional: Click the 4-digit code to copy it to your clipboard.
Copy this 4 digits code
Step 2. Get your technical Shopify URL
In order to request access we need your Shopify shop URL in format xxx.myshopify.com
You can find it by going to Settings and you will see URL near the name as shown on screenshot below.
Copy this URL
Step 3. Share details with our support team
Share 4-digital collaborator code (from step 1) and your shop URL (from step 2) with our support team either in the same mail thread you already communicate with us or by sending email to support@ventor.tech if you request installation and configuration services purchased separately together with other information as described in this article (see section “What to do after payment?“)
Step 4. Approve our collaborator request
After we submit collaborator request, you can review our request to accept in Settings > Users and Permissions > Collaborators. Accepted collaborators are listed in the Collaborators section on the Users and permissions page
What access rights do we request?
Orders (view) – we request readonly access to all your orders in order to view order details to troubleshoot problems in case there are problems with orders download from Shopify to Odoo
Products (view) + View Product Cost – needed to troubleshoot issues with products synchronization from Odoo to Shopify and from Shopify to Odoo (during initial import)
Customers (view) – because we download information for customers during sales order download, we need to have access to check if all is downloaded properly
Discounts (view) – in some cases we need to check how you configured discounts on your shop to make sure our connector properly downloads it when getting sales order
Metaobjects (definition and entries) – needed to see technical definition of custom product fields. Needed to configure synchronization of products properly
Locations (view) – our connector support export of product quantities to multiple locations. So we need access to that menu to simplify debugging
Manage and install apps + app develop (install dev apps + enable dev apps) – needed to configure Odoo to Shopify connection
