Customer languages in WooCommerce can be managed in two ways. Let’s explore the differences between these methods.
1. Use user settings
When you opt for this method, the connector will utilize the language set in the user’s settings. This language typically defaults to the site’s primary language. It doesn’t matter from which store language the customer initially made a purchase (assuming your webstore allows account creation during checkout).
To use this option, you’ll need to install our WordPress plugin:
Use order meta data
Alternatively, you can choose to use order metadata, specifically the WPML language key, which stores information about the webstore language at the time of purchase. WPML is a plugin that adds this special key to metadata (wpml_language
) .
To enable this option, simply check the designated checkbox in your integration settings:
It’s worth noting that when you use this option, the customer’s language will be updated after processing each order. For example, if a customer first made a purchase in your English store and then in your Polish store, their language preference will be updated to Polish.
With these two methods, you can choose the method that best suits your needs.
