All client applications provided by our colleagues at PrintNode are safe to use. Some anti-virus programs may incorrectly flag the Direct Print Client as unsafe. This is a false positive.
To reduce these warnings, our colleagues at PrintNode are:
Digitally signing all application files
Working with anti-virus vendors to whitelist the software
Updating or rewriting components that may trigger alerts
In some cases, the warning may still appear. If this happens, please add the Direct Print Client to the whitelist (allowed applications) in your anti-virus software and then continue with the installation.
For additional security, always download the installer from our official Downloads page. You can also compare the SHA-1 hashes of the installer with the value published on our website to confirm that the file is authentic.
