Do I need a subscription — and is it included?
Direct Print PRO uses a cloud print service and needs an active printing subscription to print. Whether it’s included depends on which option you bought: the Unlimited and the one-time-plus-subscription packages include it (we email your credentials after purchase), while the module-only product requires a subscription bought separately at print.ventor.tech, where your first 3 months are free. See the “What’s included” section above for this exact product.
Why is there a subscription?
The subscription funds a cloud print infrastructure that routes jobs from Odoo to your printers 24/7. That’s what keeps printing fast and reliable, adds zero load to your Odoo, and lets you print even when your printers aren’t on the same network as your Odoo instance.
What can I print?
Anything Odoo can produce — invoices, delivery slips, sales orders, product and lot labels, shipping labels, POS receipts, reports and attachments — in PDF or ZPL, straight to your printer.
Which printers does it work with?
Any printer you already use — USB, network, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. If it prints manually, it works with Direct Print PRO. No IoT box or extra hardware is needed; you install the module plus a small print client on your PC.
Will it slow down my Odoo?
No. Odoo generates the document and hands it off — print jobs are processed outside your instance, with no polling or background loops, so your Odoo stays fast no matter the print volume.
Can I automate printing on my workflows?
Yes — this is the point. Beyond replacing the Print button, there are 20+ prebuilt scenarios (print after delivery validation, on backorder, on pack, on order confirmation and more), Print Action Buttons, and conditional rules so documents print automatically, exactly when your process needs them.
Do I need extra hardware or technical skills?
No extra hardware and no IoT box. You install the Odoo module and our print client on the computer connected to your printers, then assign printers to users, reports or workstations. Most teams set this up without a developer.
Do you support POS printing and ZPL label design?
Yes, through add-ons: the Direct Print POS add-on for receipts and POS invoices, and ZPL Label Designer PRO for designing your own Zebra labels. Both are available from our Ecosystem store.
