How to Configure Printing in Odoo PoS (Point of Sale)

Many customers use the Odoo Point of Sale (PoS) module and need to print receipts or invoices.

Since the PoS module has a different workflow and user interface compared to standard Odoo apps, printing is configured differently and requires a dedicated approach.

Direct Print Plugin for PoS

To support printing in PoS, we provide a dedicated Direct Print plugin for Point of Sale.

This plugin allows you to:

  • Configure printers for receipts and invoices

  • Automate printing in PoS workflows

  • Integrate with hardware such as cash drawers and scales

The PoS plugin can be:

  • Purchased separately

  • Or used for free if you already have Direct Print Pro

If you purchased Direct Print Pro, the PoS plugin is available:

  • On Odoo Apps (using the same account used for the purchase)

  • On the VentorTech portal

If you do not see access, you can contact us and we will grant it.


Requirements

The PoS plugin does not work independently and requires:

  • Direct Print Pro to be installed and configured

  • An active printing subscription


How to Configure Printing in PoS

After installing the PoS plugin:

  1. Go to Point of Sale → Settings

  2. Open your PoS configuration

  3. Configure:

    • Receipt printer

    • Invoice printer

  4. Enable automatic printing if required


Additional Features

As shown in the interface, you can also configure:

  • Automatic cash drawer opening after printing

  • Integration with scales for products configured as To Weigh With Scale in Odoo
