This article explains how to install and configure the QuickBooks Online Connector on both Odoo.sh and on-premise Odoo servers.
Installation on Odoo.sh
Please check the installation video below for a complete walkthrough:
Configure Queue Job
The connector uses the OCA Queue Job framework for background processing and synchronization.
Open the Odoo.sh Shell and edit the configuration file:
nano /home/odoo/.config/odoo/odoo.conf
Odoo 18 and Earlier
Add the following configuration:
server_wide_modules = web,queue_job [queue_job] channels = root:1 scheme = https host = <your_odoo_host> port = 443
Example:
host = mycompany.odoo.com
Odoo 19
For Odoo 19, use the following configuration instead:
server_wide_modules = web,rpc,base,integration_queue_job queue_job_channels = root:1 queue_job_scheme = https queue_job_host = <your_odoo_host> queue_job_port = 443
Restart Odoo.sh
After saving the configuration, restart your Odoo.sh instance using the Shell:
odoosh-restart http
The connector is now ready for authorization and configuration.
Installation on an On-Premise Server
Step 1: Install Required Python Libraries
Install the required dependencies on your Odoo server:
pip install python-quickbooks==0.9.1 pip install pycountry==20.7.3
Step 2: Configure Queue Job
The connector relies on the OCA Queue Job module for processing synchronization tasks in the background.
Edit your odoo.conf file and add the following configuration.
Odoo 18 and Earlier
workers = 2 server_wide_modules = web,queue_job [queue_job] channels = root:1
Explanation
workers = 2 – Queue Job requires Odoo to run in multi-worker mode. Set the number of workers to a value greater than 1.
server_wide_modules = web,queue_job – Loads the Queue Job framework automatically when Odoo starts.
channels = root:1 – Creates a processing queue with one worker channel.
Odoo 19
For Odoo 19, use the following configuration:
server_wide_modules = web,rpc,base,integration_queue_job queue_job_channels = root:1 queue_job_scheme = https queue_job_host = <your_odoo_host> queue_job_port = 443
Replace:
<your_odoo_host>
with your actual Odoo domain name.
Example:
mycompany.odoo.com
Step 3: Restart Odoo
After updating the configuration, restart the Odoo service.
Example:
sudo systemctl restart odoo
The exact command may vary depending on your deployment method.
